The special flair of this enchanting harbor town is underlined by kilometers of white sandy beaches and the bright blue Mediterranean. The rocky bays of the coast and the mountainous environment contribute to the romantic setting. The magic of the European south, the sun, the Mediterranean smells and the lively shopping streets immerse the coastal town in an atmosphere seemingly out of a picture book.

History and departure

A particularly impressive view over Alicante can be seen from the famous landmark, the "Castillo de Santa Barbara ". The castle is situated on Mount Benacantil High above the city. In the beautiful marina you can admire varkous historical and modern ships. Here, as well as the "Palacio de Espana" palm-paved road, which is cobbled with 6.5 million mosaic stones, is known as the old town "El Barrio". This area has important sights and an exciting club and bar scene. In the narrow streets and cozy town squares one can experience what some may say is the authentic Alicante.

Short distances

Visitors can explore the city by foot or on a stroll. Alicante has more than 300,000 inhabitants and for them almost everything is within walking distance. You will perhaps discover “Turrón", which is a regional specialty, a dessert consisting mainly of almonds, egg whites and honey, which is typically offered during the Christmas season . But also the Mediterranean cuisine in the charming surrounding fishing villages on the coast is universally highly praised.

Alternative atmosphere

The airport is only ten kilometers from the center of the city and the choice of hotels is also a good choice for smaller and shorter events. Particularly in a younger and more price-conscious public, the city enjoys great popularity due to the vibrant and individualistic atmosphere.
